My maternal grandfather (Papa Tony -- my family hero!) came over from Bohemia in the early 1900’s. He’d gone to university in both Prague and Vienna, and was an officer in the Austrian Army. Settled in Kansas. . . and never returned to the homeland. So cheers! to our brave ancestors -- pioneers in the New World!
